S/EC/67. Dissertation. Collaboration in Higher Education between UK and Nigeria

The dissertation examines collaboration in Higher Education (HE) between the UK and Nigeria. The profile of Nigeria is presented. The research methods are described including primary data collection through semi-structured and unstructured interviews and analysis of secondary data obtained from academic sources. The review of literature touches on the role of higher education, the links between university and society, cultural differences and related communication problems, the theory of competition and collaboration, etc. The cases of collaboration between Britain and Nigeria in HE are considered. Conclusions are made about the potential of British Universities to establish successful collaboration with Nigerian Higher Education Institutions.
