This paper examines the security considerations for the transfer of secure data over the internet. It discusses how the protection of databases are confined against security threats, how data integrity is safeguarded and examines some of the major security approaches for this. It focuses upon areas such as firewalls, authentication, use of passwords and protocols and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the use of different security measures.
