The following paper aims to analyse the following hypothesis: "Technology has made it easier to produce and distribute digital multimedia data and this has changed the way people communicate". In order to do so the following was done: Investigated the way mobile phone use has changed the way that people communicate; Gathered data about the change in sales volume of digital equipments; Focused on one specific type of technology 3G phones; Carry out a survey. The research has revealed the following: Sociologists have found that mobile phones change communication. Mobile phone sales have increased drastically over recent years. New mobile phone technology makes communication easier. Society increasingly uses mobile phone to communicate.
