P/T/30. Dissertation. Effects of tourism on Tyrols lifestyles

The dissertation aims to investigate social changes brought about by the development of tourism in Tyrol, a part of the Austrian Alps. An overview of Tyrols history and alpine communities is provided highlighting the implications of geographical and social isolation, changes in population, family structure, traditions and life styles. Literature review touches upon the theories of cultural change, the concept of tourism, etc. The methods of primary observation are used in collecting data from informants. Conclusions are made about the effects of tourism on the changes in the Tyrolese lifestyle.
