P/S/26. Child sexual abuse in modern society

The paper looks at the problem of child sexual abuse in modern society The author seeks to answer a number of questions concerning sexual orientation of abusers, the effect of the abuse on children's further lives and society as a whole. Drawing on the theory of sexual imprinting, the author admits that sexual abuse in childhood is one of the leading causes of mental disorders and increases the chances of risky behaviour in adulthood (drug addiction, prostitution, etc.). The paper states in conclusion that many victims of abuse, however, become normal citizens of society.
