The dissertation aims to examine the factors influencing the success of Information System (IS) projects reporting on a case study of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) and providing a comprehensive review of the literature on project management (PM) criteria; implementation strategies; non-technical success factors for IS projects; research techniques, etc. The methods of data collection include quantitative, qualitative and combined approaches to the empirical case study, namely, interviews, documentation and analytical tools. The analysis of the SFHA was conducted using SWOT, PEST, Rich Picture, Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) and Curries Four Stages of Growth Model. Case study findings are discussed in theoretical and practical context. Conclusions are made about defining the success of IS projects.
