P/FC/22. Cross-cultural studies: specific vs. universal

The paper examines the importance of cross-cultural studies discussing their methods, namely ‘Emic (identifying cultural uniqueness) and ‘Etic (identifying universals). Philosophical approaches to the uniqueness vs. universality of cultural phenomena are reviewed highlighting the issues of cultural diversity, cultural environment of the workplace, etc.
