P/B/789. Dissertation. Columbian furniture exports to UK: SWOT analysis

The dissertation investigates the validity of SWOT analysis in international business applying it to the issues of non-traditional furniture exports from Columbian to the British market. A literature review touches upon export diversification, non traditional exports, etc. Columbian non-traditional exports are described; the issues of strategic planning are discussed considering target market opportunities and threats against the strengths and weaknesses of the supplier industry. Research methodology includes secondary data analysis, descriptive research of the target market (British furniture market) and the potential supplier (Colombian furniture exporter industry), primary data collection (through focus group meetings and surveys) and analysis. Conclusions are made about the value of SWOT model in analyzing international business issues. Recommendations are offered to Colombian furniture exporters.
