P/B/612. Dissertation. Competition in global textile market: agreement between EU and China

The dissertation aims to investigate the case of the EU – China textile agreement of 2005 examining textile industries in China and the European Union (EU) and describing their current competitive environment. A literature review touches upon the theories of trade including the issues of free trade, trade barriers, voluntary export restraint (VER), political economy, etc. The background and the implications of the new agreement on textile exports between the EU and China are discussed; conclusions are made about its role in the competition between EU and China in the textile and clothing market.
