P/B/528. Expansion of business in Europe after EU enlargement (proposal for Fidelity International)

The paper discusses the impacts of the recent EU enlargement focusing on the business expansion of the Fidelity International (FI) company. The companys position is analysed using SWOT; the requirements for their expansion are highlighted. An overview of the countries that joined EU in May 2004 is presented including their financial systems and pension schemes; savings behaviour is described in the light of the cognitive dissonance theory; issues of competing in an oligoplistic market are addressed. Recommendations are made about the most appropriate country for FI business expansion.
