The paper examines whether the notions of logistics management (LM), purchasing management (PM) and supply chain management (SCM) are mutually dependent. Each of the three concepts is defined discussing their relationship to the value chain and corporate strategy. A case study of Dell Computers is presented illustrating that mutually dependent LM, PM and SCM can help a firm to achieve competitive success.
