This report has been aimed at understanding the operations that are aimed to improve the speed of research and development (R&D) activities that is a source of sustainable competitive advantage for pharmaceutical industry. The report has been divided into three parts i.e. a) Maps the process out, identifying timings for steps using an appropriate scale and identifies the objectives the process owners had for speeding up the process. b) Investigates whether the attempts to speed up the process have worked, and where perhaps it has not. c) Use of reading and experience to help critically review the attempt to speed the process, considering the limitations of the project and suggesting how company would improve it for the future.
