C/OM/105. Dissertation. Success and Failure of NPD Projects
(2008, 17 800 words)
The dissertation examines the factors that lead to the success and failure of new product development projects, focusing on the project management (PM) process involved in these new product developments. An extensive review of literature on PM and business risk is presented; the factors affecting project management success are identified. Secondary data analysis is performed exploring the cases of Ford Motor Company and IBM to understand how organisations engaged in highly complex projects manage to overcome PM failures and achieve best practice.
