This proposal sets out to examine change management at Vodafone Germany. Here, change management was required following Vodafone's hostile takeover of German giant Mannesmann in 2000. With considerable heterogeneity between the two firms, the management of change within these organizations was particularly difficult. Traditionally, examinations of change management within a mergers and acquisitions context focus on factors that are internal to the firm, especially the reaction of employees or the firm's financial position. However, this dissertation proposal sets out to examine change management through a different lens, that of the customer.
