C/MD/21. Hollywood and Government of United States: Interdependence of Hollywood productions and US Government Policy
(2006, 1500 words)
This work looks at the Hollywood productions and how, in most of the films, current politics and Government policies are supported; how the Government seems to have used the films to shape, popularise its own policy and in the process, how the movies became a propaganda tool for the Government. It discusses the films made during and after First World War and Second World War, cultural changeover of sixties, cold war and social change of seventies, and the recent movies. It also discusses the backlashes created by the society and the administration changes. Each President had his own national and international issues and agendas to face, and the films of those years were made to suit these agendas, and some of them glorify and justify the stand taken by United States.
