It then goes on to consider the general principles that underlie criminal law and consider whether or not strict liability is contrary to these principles. It will be concluded that crimes of strict liability are contrary to principles of criminal law, and furthermore this is a unwelcome deviation from the principles of criminal law. This assignment will conclude by making suggestions for the reform of the law in this area.
