The paper looks into the concept of digital economy in the context of organisational change and knowledge creation in organisations. Change within Sainsbury's is analysed identifying its causes, and conducting PESTEL analysis of the business pressures for organisational change. The steps for transformation in Sainsbury's are outlined; Force field analysis suggested by Kurt Lewin is conducted; factors affecting E-business are identified; methods of creating a successful E-business website are suggested. Sainsbury's performance after the transformation into digital economy is discussed.
