It recommends intranet, mobile phones and PDAs as a combined strategy that will help the company to improve on its information systems. The technical functionalities of Intranet, mobile phones and PDAs are examined. Description of Short Messaging Service (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), third Generation Wireless Technology (3G), General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and Picture Messaging are highlighted. The benefits of using these systems, especially the use of mobile phones and PDAs by field staff are justified. Limitations of the systems are also examined.
