C/B/272. Discussion of Availability of IT as a Driving Factor for Managements Use of Technology

This paper is formed in the form of discussion, which is aimed to critically evaluate a debate, whether availability of IT is driving managements use of this technology but not the actual need for an organisation to build a sustainable competitive advantage. The areas, which are addressed some specific attention are as follows: potential advantages and disadvantages of managements use of IT, artificial technology and various types of IT available for managements use, IT as a base for competitive advantage as well as a potential competitor to some employees. The paper is finalised by the conclusion that IT cannot be neglected due to the number of reasons listed in the report but it depends on nature of the company and its needs, what sort of IT systems are desirable and how to approach it.
